WOMEN IN CHARGE.

Nina Harris and Jackie Newman.
Springfield, Illinois has become heavy in female leadership in the last couple of years. One could hardly not notice. Organizations in the news have discovered the positive power and leadership styles of the female influence.
Shown above are two women who are native to the city and have grown up knowing the benefits of self growth and self worth. Their childhood dreams may not have been to lead two of the leading National organizations, each with budgets well over millions of dollars, but as they developed and understood the system by working within, finally emerging into the front line of recognition, other have seen what they themselves already knew.
They care about their community and the services that are allotted to people who have been disadvantaged for so many years. They stand to fight for these services and know that at the end of each working day, they have done the best they could to be the voice and the action of so many.
Nina Harris, CEO/President of the Springfield Urban League, and Jackie Newman, CEO/ President of the Springfield Housing Authority. Both women, minorities, intelligent, and capable. Trying to make that difference within Springfield, IL.
Not to overlook, Mary Hardy-Hall Randolph, Executive Director of the Springfield YWCA. Judith Johnson, President of the School Board for District 186. Our first female and African American appointed Springfield's Chief of Staff Letitia Dewith-Anderson.
Between 1996-1998, there were three women in charge of Springfield high powerful offices, Mayor Karen Hasara, President Linda Culver of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; Chair of the County Board Mary Frances Squires. City, County and Business Community.
A lot of controversy has spawn conversation over whether a female should be elected as our next U.S.President, I think just as much concern and energy should be spent on which female could be our next Mayor of Springfield.
